Sure has been quiet

Apparently the August news cycle hasn't been that interesting to anyone else either. On the plus side college football season starts tonight as Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks (It was so tempiting just to say "Cocks" take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs (seriously, how many schools use a bulldog as their mascot? Is there anything less original).

I will now answer my own question, with help from Wikipedia (so don't blame me if it's wrong)
- McPherson College
- Mississippi St
- UGA (sic)
- Yale (who had it first of everyone)
- Gonzaga
- Fresno State

Honorable Mention (these schools have a bulldog, but go by another name)
- Georgetown (Hoyas)
- Western Illionis (Leathernecks - WTH?)

That's a lot... 4 of 119 Division 1-A schools have no creativity. But you knew that.

To continue making fun of Athens, they also have "Battle Hymn of the Republic" as a fight song (along with Colorado, Minnesota, and Penn... and I think Auburn, but I can't find documentation) AND they stole their logo from the Green Bay Packers. It's true, look it up.

If I was a Green Bay fan, I'd sue.

The Butter Trough

"The Worlds First 100% Advertisement Supported Restaurant"

Or perhaps not.

Given that Lynch avenue is right next to Tech, and doesn't have addresses that high, I'll agree with the hoax. Plus, it's a stupid idea. What I don't get is why. Probably some sort of inside joke.

Kids these days...
