Things that tick me off: Moe's

I'm stealing Burl's idea. Deal with it.

So the most convenient burrito place nearby is Moe's. I'm not particularly fond of Moe's, even if they do give out chips for free. The particular Moe's near my work ticks me off every time I end up there.

Eating at that Moe's is like air travel.

Parking is a pain. This Moe's is in the middle of this fancy shopping center with extremely limited parking. There are like 10 different restaurants in there but barely enough parking for 1 of them. Then they went and covered up a bunch of the parking with more shopping center. Stupid stupid stupid.

Once you walk in the door they strip any of your dignity. At the airport this is done by the TSA goons, who won't allow you to bring a bottle of water on board. (I'm not flying anywhere until I can bring a damn bottle of water through security) At Moe's they yell "Welcome to Moe's!" with as little enthusiasm as possible. Same thing.

At this Moe's they have about half the number of tables they should have. So everyone is crowded in and can't move past each other up and down the (one) aisle. If all the tables are full you have to stand there until someone decides to leave, and there are usually 2 or 3 tables full of oblivious dipwads who are done with their food but are just sitting there talking about whatever stupid stuff they have to talk about. On an airplane these dipwads are the ones who lean their seats back without asking.

The food at Moe's? Well, I'll just say it's pretty darn similar to airline food, when compared to any of the other burrito options which are a bit farther away.

Sounds like your particular Moe's sucks.

My opinion of burrito places:
1) Willy's: It's the best meat, rice and cheese. The Willy's near my office has the same strip mall problems as the Moe's by Ryan regarding parking and lines (but they do have tables).

2) Qdobe: Hard to find in Atlanta, but pretty good.

3) Moe's: I like Moe's food better than airline food, although I do slather it in hot sauce, which makes everything better.

4) Chipotle: I can't say much good about this place. The rice sucks (white with cilantro?), the meat is average. I have to admit, the burritos are huge though. However, the thing that ticks me off most is they charge for chips. Actually, that's not even it - there's NO FREAKING SALSA BAR!. I like salsa, and I want more than a stupid little cup. What the hell am I supposed to do with my $.75 chips when the $.50 of salsa (hence $1.25), is only enough for a third of them?

Moe's is not my favorite for several reasons:

1. taste -- the meat all has one seasoning: salt. No spices, peppers, etc. to speak of. They do have ground beef which tastes exactly like Old El Paso or McCormick seasoning. The rice is this brown rice garbage which tastes like stale salt. I don't eat beans so I can't comment on those.

2. temperature -- None of the warm ingredients are kept warm enough, so the burrito is lukewarm when you sit down. If you added any "salsa", sour cream or guac then it's even cooler. Bleh.

3. Salsa - they only have one option on the burrito line: "Pico", which is pretty much just tomatoes, and probably some salt. They have a "salsa bar" with a few decent selections but there's no way to get these into the middle of your burrito.

4. Logistics - The restaurants are a nightmare... whoever designs them has no clue about such things. They have a drink bar, teas, condiments/lids/napkins/etc. and a salsa bar, and they are arranged so that only one person (two if they're exceptionally skinny) can be at any of the stations at any given time.

My current burrito rankings:

T1: Chipotle
T1: Big City Burrito
3: Salsaritas
4: Qdoba
5: Salsa Fresh
6: Moe's

At least the chips you pay for at Chipotle are good. Moe's chips are flavorless and greasy.

Chipotle is more expensive than Moe's for the same reason that the Bellagio buffet is more expensive than the Holiday Inn Boardwalk, or whatever that place was.

That's the point of Salsa.

Mmmm... Circus Circus. When will they blow up that damn place. They blow up places I liked (Stardust), but that monstrosity is still there.
