Time for a purge

Ugh. Do any of these people do anything that would benefit their constituents anymore?

the panel also indicated it would not recommend a national retail sales tax.

This plus the broadcast flag issue, and the resistence to pork reduction.

I think I will be voting against all incumbents for a while...

UPDATE:

I saw an interview with Connie Mack on the breakroom TV just now. It was some financial channel, and the interviewer didn't seem to care about the NRST comment. They kept talking about the mortgage interest deduction and how it would affect Real Estate investment, etc.

Come on, people... BIGGER PICTURE. Ugh. ugh ugh.

I'm having a really tough time with all politicians lately. Republicans are spending like there is no tomorrow and no one has a freaking backbone.

I'm also not all that thrilled with this Miers nomination (another post for another day).

Looking forward, I think that the democrats gain seats in both houses at the mid-terms and the republicans better find a legitimate presidential candidate or Hillary's going to waltz in. Talk about a disaster.

I don't think he can win, but Newt's been the only republican making any sense recently.

If the LP will get on the stick I think they've got a chance to win a seat or 2, especially in some of the border states. Unfortunately, it won't happen.

It doesn't seem to matter R vs. D these days.

On my way to work today someone (Dick Morris?) on the Fox News channel had a convincing argument that Condi is the only Rep. who could win against Hitlery.

The LP is not a "recognized" party in NC as they didn't get enough votes/signatures in the last election to keep it active. What a racket the 2 major parties have going. I need to get in on that somehow.

I don't know that I agree Condi's the only Republican that can beat Hillary.

My list of people who can beat Hillary also includes Guliani, McCain and Powell (won't run).

I wouldn't vote for McCain. He's really a Dem.

That said, I haven't seen a compelling canidate emerge. The senate leadership is a joke, especially with Frist's problems and the House has even less.

Maybe there's a governor who can emerge (I don't think Jeb can win)

I'm not sure if I agree with it either, but it was "convincing."

Morris said that McCain could win the election but probably couldn't get nominated. He's not very popular within the party.

He also said that Giuliani would face the same problems getting nominated because many of his views are not in line with conservatives. Gun control for instance.

If nothing major changes before '08, all the Dems really have to do is put up someone who is better than Kerry was... not difficult.

I'm more inclined to think something "big" will happen before then that will make these conversations moot.

Big terrorist attack, big Hillary scandal exposed, big & effective tax reform passed, etc.
